shanghai.

I'm still alive!
Sitting here procrastinating from the endless list of things that seem to need to be done before I leave on Monday, back to my home city: Shanghai and hopefully to rediscover myself.

Coming to realise a lot of faults in myself, something I want to rectify.
Having no sense of direction in a way that I used to, comes across as rather demotivating.
Hoping my trip to Shanghai can crease out the wrinkles and give me a fresh start and much needed motivation and inspiration to do what I always wanted to do with myself.

Promise I'll be posting more next month.
There will be plenty of photos to share, giveaways I have planned and a drive to grow and meet all the readers out there.

Until then.

summer nostalgia.

I've been laying low on the blogging side as once again the boyfriend has jetted off overseas, this time for work. The process of also upgrading our camera is now also in it's fourth month!

Just something visual, seeing as summer hasn't been much of a summer this year. Missing everything about the water right now. The heat and how it makes you cooler, the late afternoon's spent snoozing on the rocks and weekend chill sessions with Rick, seems oh so far away now that summer is officially over.

These amazing shots were taken in North Bondi and Long Bay.

white rabbit gallery.

In line with Chinese New Year celebrations, I wanted to share an awesome little gallery tucked away in the back streets of the Sydney suburb of Chippendale. Having rather traditional Chinese parents, I've always been somewhat steered towards a lot of traditionalist appreciation of anything artistic. That is why when my friend Sasha suggested to visit this gallery, it was a rather a refreshing and inspiring slap in the face.

This fine little gallery is home to one of the world's largest and most significant collections of Chinese Contemporary Art, founded by Kerr and Judith Neilson. The gallery is converted from an old knit factory with gorgeous ceiling heights and interior design and a cute little tea house serving hand made dumplings and a wide selection of delicious teas.

You can obviously see I have a massive obsession with their AMAZING staircase! They are definitely a worthy place to check out on a weekend must do for fun. You can find more information on their website here or you can find them at:

Two pieces of jewellery I picked up from an amazing brand called MOUSSY while in Japan. They stock heaps of rustic vintage-esque pieces with an edge. Their sale staff are all gorgeous and super tall babes who are all impeccably dressed!

happy new year.

Technically speaking, I'm a month late in wishing you all a happy new year, but being Chinese, our New Year was on Sunday. So really, I guess I'm not exactly that late. =)

Happy New Year Everyone! Really wishing this year will be a blast for every single one of my readers! Last year has been a whirlwind year, with me starting this blog properly and meeting a lot of great people through this medium. I really hope that this year will bring me more of that.

I've haven't been lazy with my posts, more that I have been trying to upgrade my camera. With the unfortunate flooding in Thailand, it means that the model I want is currently out of stock everywhere!

I still have a few back logs worth of outfit posts and photos to share with you all! So hoping everyone will still find interest into reading up on past posts of last year that have made my last year great!

So until then, leaving you guys with the Chinese Fortune Fish, that mum currently has hung up on the wall at home, celebrating Chinese New Year. Hope it will bring you all fortune and prosperity this year!

end of an old, start of the new.

That time of the year where the end of the year creeps up behind you and when you do finally realise its all go from there. I've had a short hiatus from blogging. One reason being i've been extreamely busy with end of year plans and secondly I haven't had much to share with everyone as we are currently in the process of upgrading our camera.

This is just a short post with snaps of what I've been up to as of late. The last few weeks included events such as Christmas parties, birthdays and of course Christmas itself.

Row One: A birthday dinner with Mum and Edwina at the Guillaume at Bennelong in the Opera House. The dinner was to celebrate Edwina and Mine's birthday. We also saw Leonardo DiCaprio who just happened to be sitting next to us having dinner!
Row Two: The surprise party that Rick and James threw for me with a delicious chocolate marble cake. A picture of the family Edwina, James, Xavy, Rick and I. The YSL Malachite and Gunmetal ring I bought for myself as a little birthday present.
Row Three: Christmas drinks and food both at work and home.
Row Four: First few days spent in QLD fishing at Maroochydore River and the scenery outside Kawana Waters Hotel.

I know this is a bit late, but I just wanted to thank all my readers that have come through the blog this year and all the kind words and support you guys have given me. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and all have a great and safe new year!

okinawa.

Our last week spent in Japan was in Okinawa, Japan's south Island. Looking forward to sun and beach, something that we dearly missed, we arrived to a down pour of rain. Its funny now that I think back to it, but it seemed the rain kinda followed me everywhere in Japan. A little disheartened, we picked up our rental car and drove North up the coast line of Okinawa to our resort. There weren't that many foreigners in Okinawa so planning the trip was rather hard as most places ONLY spoke Japanese. Would of loved to visit the smaller islands like Miyako, but as they required another connecting flight to get there, we kinda ran out of time.

We stayed at the Kanucha Resort which had it's own private beach, 3 pools, 7 restaurants, 1 golf course, spa and also its very own bus that takes you to different stops within the resort. Our own little suite had its own little Jacuzzi on our balcony and an interior decor that was very Bali-esque.

Everyday we woke up to clear blue skies and a stunning view of the ocean and the beach. Luck was on our side as we'd enjoy perfect weather during the day, with rain at night.  Some highlights of the trip:

Driving to the Churaumi Aquarium (world's second largest aquarium) we came across a coast side with amazingly blue water that stretched out miles out to sea and met with the horizon and made it look like as if the ocean dropped off the edge of the globe. They had some amazingly man made structures which I think were designed as a wave buffer?

Churaumi was actually quite an impressive aquarium too. One of their tanks housed three whale sharks, tuna, angel fish, grey nurse sharks, bull rays, eagle rays and all whole lot of other tropical and pelagic fish. I think in all we spent about 2-3 hours just in the one area. There were sea creatures that I've actually never seen in any of the other aquariums I've been to back home in Australia and they also had a shark research lab. Kinda freaky in there as there were shark specimens in like jars and what not.

The second day was spent with our guide Masa who took us diving with three whale sharks and snorkeling around in the Blue Cave. Both were amazing experiences, especially the whale shark dive, I was so nervous at first I could literally feel my heart jumping out of my chest and panicked slightly when I actually had to go under water and swim literally centimeters from a whale shark of 8 meters long. We also purchased a new water housing for our camera, which meant plenty of underwater snaps and close ups!

Okinawa was definitely an experience that showed me an alternate side to Japanese culture. It was so unlike the mainland Japan and its culture rather more Eastern influenced. Its locals are a lot more like us here back home, love for surf, sun and sand.
